Wolverines Varsity Loses Lead Early In Defeat to Juanita

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-2 loss to Juanita on Wednesday. Juanita scored on a home run by Lexi Blackburn in the first inning, a fielder’s choice by Sasha Mitchell in the second inning, a walk by Jordan Schroeder in the second inning, a walk in the second inning, a single by Abbie Reynolds in the second inning, and a groundout by Megan Murray in the second inning.

Wolverines took an early lead in the first inning. Kelly Treves‘s sac fly scored one run for Bellevue.

Juanita took the lead for good with four runs in the first inning. In the first Lexi Blackburn homered off of Treves, driving in three runs and there was an error, scoring one run.

Juanita scored six runs in the second inning. Juanita’s big inning was driven by a fielder’s choice by Sasha Mitchell, a walk by Jordan Schroeder, a walk , a single by Abbie Reynolds, and a groundout by Megan Murray.

Murray earned the win for Juanita. She went seven innings, allowing two runs, four hits, and striking out one. Treves took the loss for Bellevue Wolverines Varsity. She threw one inning, giving up ten runs, five hits, and striking out one.

Mason Mukhar and Treves each drove in one run to lead Bellevue Wolverines Varsity.

Juanita had 11 hits in the game. Reynolds, Blackburn, Mitchell, and Brynn Radke each collected multiple hits for Juanita. Reynolds led Juanita with three hits in three at bats. Juanita didn’t commit a single error in the field. Radke had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
