Wolverines close out the season with win over Newport

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity defeated Newport – Bellevue 14-2 on Friday thanks to eight runs in the fifth inning. Bellevue Wolverines Varsity‘s offense in the inning came from singles by Amirah HaqueCam Durrell, and Olivia George.

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity fired up the offense in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Bellevue Wolverines Varsity.

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity put up eight runs in the fifth inning. Bellevue Wolverines Varsity offense in the inning was led by HaqueDurrell, and George, who all drove in runs.

Rachel Treves was the winning pitcher for Bellevue Wolverines Varsity. The righty surrendered two runs on four hits over five innings, striking out eight and walking one.

Joyce Yang was in the pitcher’s circle for Newport – Bellevue. The pitcher lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out one. Jessica Yang threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
