Wolverines fall short at Inglemoor

Bellevue battled hard in its first road game of the season but fell short to a talented, experienced Inglemoor team, losing 11-7.

Once again, the Wolverines battled back from an early deficit but couldn’t overcome the Vikings.

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity loses 10-7 to Inglemoor

Kristie Bennett did all she could to give Bellevue Wolverines Varsity a boost, but it wasn’t enough to get past Inglemoor, as Bellevue Wolverines Varsity lost 10-7 in seven innings at Inglemoor HS on Thursday.

Kristie racked up four RBIs on two hits for Bellevue Wolverines Varsity. She homered in the fourth inning and singled in the fifth inning.

Tegan McDonald recorded the win for Inglemoor even though she allowed seven runs over seven innings. She struck out nine, walked five and surrendered seven hits.

Dejah Rogers ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. She allowed 10 runs in six innings, walked five and struck out two.

Inglemoor never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring five runs on two errors and an RBI single by Missy Downs.

Three runs in the top of the fourth helped Bellevue Wolverines Varsity close its deficit to 5-3. A three-run home run by Kristie gave Bellevue Wolverines Varsity life. But, Tegan got Stuart Buxton to strike out to end the inning.

One run in the top of the fifth helped Bellevue Wolverines Varsity close its deficit to 5-4. An RBI single by Kristie set off Bellevue Wolverines Varsity rally. The Bellevue Wolverines Varsity threat came to an end when Tegan finally got Amelia Beardsley to.

Inglemoor built upon its lead with five runs in the sixth. A ground out scored Tegan to get Inglemoor on the board in the inning.

Three runs in the top of the seventh helped Bellevue Wolverines Varsity close its deficit to 10-7. A three-run home run by Dejah sparked Bellevue Wolverines Varsity’s rally. Finally, Tegan got Kristie to end the game.

Bellevue travels to Wenatchee today for games Saturday against Woodinville and Eastmont.
