Wolverines Drop Game To Juanita After Late Score

Wednesday’s game against Juanita was a heartbreaker for Bellevue Wolverines, as they lost the lead late in a 5-4 defeat. The game was tied at four with Juanita batting in the top of the eighth when Jordan Schroeder hit a solo homer.

Bellevue Wolverines took an early lead in the second inning when an error scored one run for Bellevue Wolverines.

In the top of the fifth inning, Juanita tied things up at four when Sasha Mitchell hit a solo homer.

After Juanita scored two runs in the top of the third, Bellevue Wolverines answered with two of their own. Juanita scored when Abbie Reynolds singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Kaci Gordon singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Bellevue Wolverines then answered when Kelly Treves tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Kama Boswell laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

Mackenzie Burke led things off on the rubber for Juanita. She lasted eight innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out four.

Rachel Treves was on the rubber for Bellevue Wolverines. She lasted eight innings, allowing 11 hits and five runs while striking out seven and walking one.

Juanita hit two home runs on the day. Schroeder put one out in the eighth inning. Mitchell went for the long ball in the fifth inning.
