Bellevue whips Garfield on Rogers’ 1-hitter

Dejah Rogers pitched a 1-hitter and Bellevue defeated Garfield 10-0 Monday.

Rogers, Kristie Bennett and Priya White each had two RBI as the Wolverines won their second straight game and improved to 3-2.

Bellevue scored five runs in the first and never was threatened. Rogers didn’t give up a hit until the fourth inning.

The Wolverines’ next game is at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at home vs. Hazen.

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity jumps on Garfield HS early and coasts to 10-0 win

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity jumped out to an early lead on Garfield HS and captured a 10-0 victory on Monday at Garfield.

Seven runs in the first three innings allowed Bellevue Wolverines Varsity to put the game away early.
A two-run double by Dejah Rogers, a groundout by Amelia Beardsley, a wild pitch, and an RBI single by Priya White during the first inning and a two-run double by Kristie Bennett in the second inning supplied the early offense for Bellevue Wolverines Varsity.

Madi George reached base three times. She scored two runs and had one RBI.

Dejah put together a nice outing. Garfield HS managed just one hit off of the Bellevue Wolverines Varsity’s pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out nine during her five innings of work.

Conroy was the game’s losing pitcher. She allowed 10 runs in five innings, walked six and struck out four.

Bellevue Wolverines Varsity added three more runs in the top of the fifth. Priya singled, plating Amelia to start the inning.
